Bali Yoga
Retreat 2023

At Gaia Abasan Mountain Retreat, Tejakula + The Shala Bali, Ubud.

Monday 1st to Monday 8th May 2023

Take yourself away from it all, take time to unwind, deepen your yoga and meditation practise and enjoy two unique, beautiful Balinese locations.
Helen and Pip are looking forward to returning to Bali and taking you to these fabulous retreat settings, one hidden in the mountains on the quiet, north of the island, the other, set in the lush, vibrant green paddy fields just outside Ubud, Bali’s cultural centre.
This is an opportunity to leave behind busy daily life, a chance to pause, connect with your self, rest in nature, to be quiet and spend time simply being present. We are taking a small group (maximum of 16 people) so places are limited.

Making time in life to ‘retreat’ is one of the finest gifts you can give to yourself.

Gaia Oasis

Gaia Oasis is located on the north coast of the island of Bali near village of Tejakula in the green rural heartland of Northern Bali. The Gaia Oasis resorts support a non- profit foundation that works with the local community to improve local lives and the living environment.

At the Gaia Oasis Abasan Mountain Retreat the earth elements of nature combine with the vitality of northern rural Bali creating an environment in which to reconnect and rejuvenate. It is a place to rest, explore the mountain pathways and swim in the beautiful salt water swimming pool built into a mountain terrace.

Meals are served buffet style and are mainly vegetarian with some local fish and chicken dishes available. Indonesian and western influenced cooking using ingredients sourced from the resort garden or from local markets.

Accomodation is in large, Balinese style bungalows, surrounded by organic gardens and fruit trees. Each bedroom has a large, open-air ensuite bathroom. Twin share rooms at Gaia Abasan have 1 single and 1 double bed.

Guests also have access to Gaia’s sister retreat on the beach, a short 15 minute drive away or a walk down the mountain. There is a free shuttle between the mountain and beach retreat. Here you can swim in the ocean and snorkel over the protected coral reef.

The average temperature in May is 28°C. In this mountain location humidity can be less intense and temperatures more temperate than in lower areas in Bali.

The Shala Bali

The Shala Bali, is a luxurious Yoga and Ayurveda retreat centre cocooned among breathtaking rice-fields and tropical gardens.  Created by three lifelong devotees of Yoga and wellness, The Shala Bali is a healthy, beautiful paradise where guests can escape, relax and unwind.

Facilities include two restaurants; the organic vegetarian cafe and the vegetarian Indian Mumbai cafe, Ayurvedic spa with massage and beauty treatments and a salt water swimming pool.

Accommodation is architecturally designed to invite in the natural surroundings with a modern Balinese inspired look. Each room and villa has been built and decorated uniquely to create a personal ambiance which feels more like a private villa than a hotel room. All rooms have attached en-suite bathrooms with elements of nature and have well equipped amenities including aircon.

‘I’d just like to say THANK YOU again so much for such a wonderful retreat. I was not really sure what to expect and it really went beyond those ideas. Pip and Helen you are both such amazing women that have so much knowledge and experience to share.’

Deanna

‘The whole retreat was looked after so well; from the knowledgeable and fantastic teachers, to the program, to the food, to the roommates selected for us. It was an emotional and cleansing retreat that had something for everyone and where everyone felt supported. Thank you so much.’

Mandy

‘Just want to say thank you to Helen and Pip for creating a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with myself.’
