Georgie Way

Georgie Way is a passionate, vibrant, energetic, red headed, ball of love.
She was an international dragon boater for 10 years, and has always had a remarkable affinity with sport and physical strength. George trialed the course for Ninja Warrior on Cockatoo Island for two years straight and didn’t miss an obstacle. She met her husband in a World Dragon Boat Competition in Hong Kong, they paddled for 1 final year with the Australian team and then retired… a more balanced life was calling.
She began her yoga teaching journey at The Yoga Institute in 2012. Prior to that she had been training athletes and the general public since her early 20’s, whilst completing her teaching degree at Macquarie University to teach High School Japanese, and her Diploma in Fitness at Randwick TAFE.

Georgie is also a life saver, and competes in every land and water event at Surf Life Saving Championships. She moved from Sydney to the Central Coast in 2017, and is overwhelmed by the amazing communities and the kindness of the people that surround her. She is busy working dancing swimming and raising her nearly 4 year old. She adores her incredibly talented chef and musician husband who has the same love, appreciation and zest for life. The ocean, fresh air, ridiculous dancing and long deep conversations are four of her favourite things.

The balance of training hard, but also knowing when and how to slow down has been a crucial part of Georgie’s journey. Having grown up in a very dysfunctional and violent home, she developed a slightly unhealthy habit around perfectionism and control (mainly in relation to her body and what it was capable of) this was a great drive in order to be the top Australian female in every sport she tried, but growing and learning and hurting and healing… was so much more satisfying, and truly a gift to be able to find and explore a much more vulnerable side of herself. One of her favourite quotes “I will not teach or love or show you anything perfectly, but I will always let you see me. And I will always hold sacred the gift of seeing you.”

She loves listening to Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, and Oprah… obvs. She makes videos instead of watching Netflix. She lives and loves with her whole heart! This is expressed beautifully through her teaching and training and general care for people. Her energy and smile is contagious. Most people leave her classes a little bit more in love with themselves and the world.
